When it comes to workplace safety, workers, supervisors and employers all play different roles and have different responsibilities.

The Workplace Safety and Health Act assigns responsibility to each person in the workplace for creating and ​maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, to the extent that they have the authority and ability to do so. Everyone has a personal and shared responsibility to work together co-operatively to prevent workplace injuries and illness.
