What caused a near miss today could result in a serious injury tomorrow.
Look into near misses exactly as you would more serious incidents, and document what happened. Near misses don’t require the same reporting procedures as serious incidents, but they still warrant investigation. You can use the same incident report form. You just wouldn’t need the same degree of follow up.
