Workplace Safety and Health enforces The Workplace Safety and Health Act and its associated Regulations in order to protect the safety and health of workers in Manitoba. ​The Workplace Safety and Health Act and its Regulations apply to workplaces under provincial jurisdiction.

Workplace Safety and Health’s inspection and investigation activity focuses on improving legislative compliance in order to eliminate workplace fatalities, injuries and illnesses.

Manitoba has four major codes in place to govern workplace practices. Codes of practice are issued​​​ for the purpose of providing practical guidance on the requirements of any provision of regulations under The Workplace Safety and Health Act.​​ View the Codes of Practice.

Workplaces in Manitoba that ​fall under federal jurisdiction are regulated by the Canada Labour Code.
