Harassment Summary

As a worker, you are entitled to protection from bullying and harassment in the workplace. Every employer must have harassment policies and procedures in place that meet the requirements laid out in Part 1 - Definition and General Matters of the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Regulation. Here, harassment is defined as objectionable conduct that creates risk to the health of a worker or severe conduct that adversely affects a worker's psychological or physical well-being.

Harassment can include written or verbal comments, physical acts, gestures, displays or any combination thereof.

SAFE Work Manitoba's resources contain information about what can be considered harassment, what needs to be included in a workplace harassment policy and what procedures need to be taken if a worker reports harassment in the workplace.
