Your organization should
identify an individual(s) who will be responsible for incorporating
psychological health and safety into your current safety and health program.
The roles and responsibilities of those responsible for psychological injury
and illness prevention should be clear. To help with this process, consider the
following:
- As
with all other safety and health programming, safety and health starts at
the top - have a clear leader who will assign resources.
- Identify
a champion who is well respected in the workplace who can move this agenda
forward. In organizations with organized labour, champions should
come from both management and labour. For more tips on identifying a
champion view the Assembling
the Pieces Guide, pg. 24.
- Add
joint committee roles in psychological health and safety to the
committee's terms of reference.
