A Manitoba employer was recently
fined $31,250 for failing to provide, so far as reasonably practicable, such
information, instruction, training, supervision, and facilities to its workers;
failing to ensure that one of its machines used in the workplace was
safeguarded, to prevent it’s worker from coming into contact with moving parts;
and failing to ensure the presence of a stopping device on one of its machines
used in the workplace.
Ensuring workers are trained to
perform their duties safely, ensuring machine safeguards are in place and is an
important part of preventing injuries.
SAFE Work Manitoba offers
