The World Health Organization (WHO) defines positive mental health as "a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community. In the workplace there can be no health without mental health."
Creating healthy workplaces has become increasingly urgent, as stress levels continue to rise and the awareness of the human economic costs of mental illness has grown.
