Contest Details
How to Enter
No purchase necessary. Contestants can receive entries for the online contest five ways: 1) Answer the questions in the videos correctly, 2) Forward the site to a friend, 3) Join the mailing list, 4) Join the SAFE Work Facebook Page/Like us on Facebook and/or 5) Answer a bonus poll question.
Any attempts to tamper with the entry process and/or operation of the contest may constitute a violation of law and may result in disqualification from this contest and any future contests by the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB) and the Government of Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Division (WSHD).
Prizes
Prizes: There are seven (7) iPad 2s, one (1) MacBook, one (1) 48” Panasonic TV, one (1) PlayStation 3, one (1) iPod Touch, four (4) $250 gift certificates to a store of your choice, one (1) Nintendo 3DS and multiple Tales from the Creep t-shirts available to be won in the contest. Approximate retail value of the prizes are as follows: $600 for each iPad 2, $1,000 for the MacBook, $1,000 for the Panasonic TV, $400 for the PlayStation 3, $250 for the iPod Touch, $250 for each of the gift certificates, $200 for the Nintendo 3DS and $10 for each Tales from the Creep t-shirt.
Contest Eligibility
Contestants must be 15 years of age or older and residents of Manitoba to participate in this contest. Employees of the WCB, WSHD and their immediate families with whom they reside, and any employee of their respective agents, representatives, promotional agencies and assignees are not eligible to win this contest.
The WCB and WSHD reserve the right to lock out persons whose eligibility is in question.
Contest Closing Date
The contest closing date is November 4, 2011 at or about 4 PM CST.
Selection of Winners
Each potential winner will be randomly selected among the entries and the name of each winning entry will be declared the potential winner.
The potential winners will be contacted by telephone at the number indicated on the entry form. If a potential winner is unable to be reached in that manner within one (1) week of the draw, another eligible entry will be drawn and the process will be repeated until the prize is awarded. Winning is subject to the selected participant successfully answering a skill testing question.
All prize draws will be made at or about 1 PM on Monday, November 7, 2011. The winners will be randomly selected among the entries and the name of each winning entry will be declared the potential winner.
Chances of Winning
The chances of winning a prize will depend on the total number of eligible entries received before the draw deadlines in accordance with these rules. Entries will remain active from the time of submission until the end of the contest.
No Substitutions by Winners
The prizes must be accepted as awarded without substitution, and cannot be transferred. The prizes have no cash equivalent.
Decisions Final
All decisions made with respect to all aspects of this contest are final and not subject to challenge. These rules may be amended at any time without notice. WCB and WSHD expressly reserve the right to take any steps they deem necessary in their absolute discretion, including the right to modify the contest and methods of entry, in order to ensure that the contest is conducted in a fair way for all contestants and for WCB and WSHD.
No Liability
WCB, WSHD and their employees, agents, representatives, promotional agencies and assignees shall not be responsible in any way for loss or damage arising from the use of or, bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to, the prizes awarded in this contest or the entry by a contestant herein. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, WCB and WSHD assume no responsibility or liability for any risk or dangers associated with the acceptance or use of the prizes awarded as part of this contest or any liability associated with online or electronic entries, and expressly disclaims liability from loss or damage to a contestant’s computer system howsoever caused arising from bugs, viruses, malicious software or technical failures in any way associated with or arising from, online or electronic entries.
Contest Entries
All entries become the property of WCB and WSHD as partners in the SAFE Work initiative. All entries are subject to verification and may be declared invalid if they are suspected to have been forged, falsified or tampered with in any way.
Lost Entries
WCB and WSHD are not responsible for any lost, misdirected or delayed entries.
Consent to Use
By entering the contest, entrants consent to the use and publication of their name and statements in connection with the contest or any subsequent promotions held by WCB and WSHD, without payment or compensation other than the chance to win the prize awarded. WCB and WSHD reserve the right to use the ideas and stories submitted in the contest to develop future SAFE Work public awareness and advertising campaigns.
Applicable Laws
This contest is subject to all applicable, federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations and any dispute relating hereto will be determined by a Manitoba court applying Manitoba law and the laws of Canada as applicable therein.
Substitutions
WCB and WSHD reserve the right to make a prize substitution of equivalent value in the event of unavailability of the prize or any aspect thereof for reasons beyond the control of WCB and WSHD. In the event of a prize substitution by WCB and WSHD, the substitute prize must be accepted as awarded, and cannot be transferred.
Errors and Omissions Excepted
WCB and WSHD are not responsible for printing, distribution or production errors and may, in their discretion, withdraw this contest if it is found to contain any such error, without liability to anyone whatsoever.
Personal Information
The personal information obtained from the contest entry form will not be used or disclosed by WCB and WSHD for any purpose other than general contest administration and the purpose set forth in Section 12 above. WCB and WSHD operate under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and will protect personal information with security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. WCB and WHSD will securely delete or dispose of personal contact information within six (6) months of the close of the contest. Stories and submissions may be retained indefinitely without identifying contact information unless express consent is received from the entrants.
