From the very beginning, SAFE Manitoba has been very supportive of the SAFE Group.
In addition to sharing best practices from a variety of industries, SAFE Manitoba has also been able to provide injury statistics specific to the companies in the SAFE Group. This has enabled SAFE Group companies to more effectively address areas of concern.
Over the past 12 months, the SAFE Group has seen a downward trend in injuries occurring at 7 of the 8 companies involved. That reduction is credited directly to the information shared between companies and the support from SAFE Manitoba.
The benefits have been significant. Employees are receiving full pay because they are able to work modified or alternate duties while meeting doctor's requirements. The medical community is seeing fewer in urgent care visits related to workplace injuries. The companies themselves are seeing a reduction in lost time injuries/days and a significant reduction in claims costs. It's truly a situation where everyone wins.
